The Data Services Specialist is responsible for all data transactions required in any given deployment assignment. Data transactions include: conversion, migration, export, import, integration, transformation, and enrichment activities. The Data Services Specialist will perform data transaction services as part of an overall product deployment service. This position will interact with customers; this is a customer facing role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for data transactions including; database upgrades, data extractions/exports, data transformation, data conversions, data cleansing, data migration/import, and data integration.
Responsible for project stages including: analysis, design, build, test, and staging/production runs.
Complete necessary documentation throughout a project.
Consult with customers to document project requirements.
Participate in process automation to include the design, development, documentation, analysis, creation and testing
Accountable for working effectively with the rest of the team to deliver the highest quality deployment services
The ability to identify obstacles, and create and implement manageable solutions
Other duties may be assigned.
Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science or degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field required.
3+ years experience in a database production or technical deployment position, with a focus on data management, transformation, migration and enrichment.
Demonstrated experience with SSIS, SQL, stored procedures, database triggers, data manipulation, and data management.
Exceptional technical skills with MS SQL 2005, 2008, 2012
Experience with Salesforce platform and importing data to Salesforce is a plus.
Strong QA skills in testing data accuracy and integrity
Knowledge of software deployment methodology
The ability to work across departmental lines, and to establish clear common objectives, is critical.
The ability to understand client needs and communicate articulate, attainable solutions is essential.
A strong customer service orientation is required
