Data & Systems Engineer 'Hadoop' Greenplum

Immediate opportunity for a talented Data & Systems Engineer to join a team of professionals on developing Cloud Analytics Platform, a massive scale information processing platform. You would be doing data pipelines and systems programming where high scalability, innovation, and high quality are very important. This new platform will aid our customers, which are worldwide and include Fortune 500 companies. They heavily rely on our software not only to quickly find the “gold†in the huge amount of data they have collected, but also to enable them to massively cleanse, analyze, mine and arbitrarily manipulate information for their companies. As a member of this team, you will be involved in developing and integrating, tools/components and systems that enable efficient, multi-tenant system for data management for Hadoop and Greenplum DB.
Job Focus

• Building tools and frameworks for data and systems management of large scale computing resources
• Identify, qualify and integrate with existing technology stack
• Build and/or Optimize tools for scalability
• Build data pipeline processing, ETL tools and framework

Job Duties

• Contribute to key systems design and architecture decisions
• Technology qualification criteria and rapid prototyping and proof of concepts
• Design and write enterprise-level, scalable, high-quality software
• Collect critical system requirements
• Write your own unit tests and contribute to QA test plans
• Review documentation and code created by other developers, team members
• Various responsibilities as required in an agile environment

Requirements

• Solid programming skills â€" experience with Hadoop and related stack, ETL frameworks, BIG Data management and tools, web technology and framework such as drupal
• Experience with Java/C++ and scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Bash
• Strong problem solver; strong abstract thinker
• Familiarity with cloud computing paradigm
• Familiarity with the Linux/Unix and GNU tools.
• Must have a BS degree in a technical discipline and 5+ years minimum experience, or a MS degree in a technical discipline and 2-3 years minimum experience
