Utilizing cutting edge technology and a massive, dynamic data set, you will participate in the design, implementation and operation of our data warehouses.
As a Data Warehouse Engineer, you will
Be responsible for the development and support of our data warehouse systems.
Engineer, unit test and deploy data transformation processes, including processes to maintain integrity and quality of the data warehouse.
Design and implement production processing tools, including performance monitoring, scheduling tools, and notification systems in the event of failure.
Document and maintain extract transform and load (ETL) process meta-data.
Work within a team of experienced professionals to achieve team goals using an agile methodology.
Identify opportunities for operational improvements through root cause analysis, research, recommend solutions, gain consensus with the team and stakeholders.
? Expert level development skills using SQL and/or PL-SQL.
? Expert level skills with UNIX shell scripting, including Bash shell and Cron scheduler.
? 3+ years of experience in Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence and Data Integration systems.
? Understanding of Ralph Kimball and star schema concepts.
? Familiarity with and understanding of normalization including third normal form (3NF).
? Experience developing ETL components using SQL and UNIX tools.
? Experience with any or all of the following technologies is a big plus:
Netezza, Pentaho, Perl, Bash, Java, Hadoop, Hive, Pig.
? Experience working in a team using an agile development methodology is a plus.
? Strong aptitude to learn new tools, languages and techniques used for data warehousing, big data and its presentation.
? Strong written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
? Ability to manage time efficiently.
? Consulting experience a plus.
? A Bachelor?s degree or better in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics or related field.
