Data Warehouse Engineer LeadPoint

Job Description:

LeadPoint is seeking a Data Warehouse Engineer to take ownership of the Company's extensive data mining and business intelligence capabilities and play a key role in the design and development of advanced B2B trading, eCommerce and B2C consumer intelligence application; work with Executive team, Product Management, Platform Development, Analysts and Business Intelligence teams to finalize the specifications, design, and document them; act as a team lead in all phases of project life cycle from requirements definition through implementation for assigned BI/DW projects; plan, maintain, enhance, design, develop and implement changes to a Data warehousing environment that will include Data Acquisition tasks (Acquire Data from various source systems to DW staging, loads to DW/ODS structures, detail to summary level aggregation etc.) using the Pentaho data integrator, and Data Reporting (Pentaho Cubes & Operator report, EUL - End User Layer or cube Schema - Semantic Layer for BI Tools (ROLAP method), Reports, Metrics, Analytics etc.); write and maintain ad-hoc ANSI-SQL queries on large data sets; work with database administrators to design and create reusable and scalable artifacts for large Enterprise Data Warehouse; work with DBAs to tune the report/Cube queries and make the reports available as per the agreed SLA; work with and train business stakeholders to leverage Pentaho End User Layer for actionable business intelligence; work with software engineers to monitor and optimize JDBC/SQL use within the web application; work with software engineers to built OTLP databases that map well with OLAP requirements; assess the impact of production system changes to existing reports and implement changes to the Data warehouse and Cubes to ensure consistent and accurate reporting and analytics capabilities; communicate with customer groups and business analysts with respect to software capabilities, functionality, and design options; and provide technical support for the Data Warehouse system.

Requirements:

- Master of Science degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 3 years of experience in data warehouse engineering or related field; or Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 5 years of progressive experience in data warehouse engineering or related field.
- Experience working with ANSI-SQL in a relational Database environment
- Experience designing and developing packages and procedures
- Strong knowledge of database performance tuning techniques
- Technical knowledge of Data formats and interfaces and online analytical processing including JDBC, OLAP, and ROLAP
- Experience working with Enterprise Data Warehouse environment
- Experience in data warehouse design and development and support using dimensional modeling.
