Description:Passport Health Communications, Inc., a nationally recognized pioneer developing innovative solutions for the healthcare industry and one of Healthcare Informatics Top 100 Healthcare Companies, is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA).
The DBA is responsible for providing operational database services to the organization. Some of the primary responsibilities of the role include:
?Own, track and resolve database related incidents and requests;
?Maintain ETL packages and applications
?Monitor and triage ETL processes daily
?Optimize and improve database performance;
?Respond to database related alerts and escalations, and;
?Work with engineers and developers to identify issues.
This role requires a service oriented mentality, a high sense of ownership of database operations, working closely with the other DBAs, and a focus on maintaining good communication with all stakeholders.
Duties:?Act as a member of the primary team for database solutions, issues, and problems
?Monitor health of database servers
?Monitor performance of database servers and enact tuning where appropriate
?Establish, implement, and monitor backup and recovery procedures
?Monitor storage trends and take necessary action to accommodate for growth (i.e. request hardware, archive data, etc)
?Develop, implement, and monitor data transfer for trading partner data imports, platform synchronization, etc and monitor for success/failure daily.
?Develop ETL-specific contacts and relationships with trading partners for issue escalation.
?Act as a resource for development staff members.
?Maintain and monitor data replication solutions for disaster recovery site.
?Maintain and monitor data replication solutions for data warehousing and reporting needs.
?Research and evaluate new tools, methods, development tools, and products that relate to data management.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications:?B.S. in computer science, engineering, or related technical field.
?Five years experience in database development and administration, specifically Microsoft SQL Server in a 24x7 enterprise-level operation.
?Experience with open source database systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.
?Previous experience working in a medium to large team environment.
?Strong written and verbal skills.
?Experience with complex ETL processes preferred.
?Experience with Microsoft Clustering Services preferred.
?Experience in database performance tuning preferred.
?Demonstrated ability to understand schema models and other system architecture diagrams.
Microsoft database and/or development certifications (MCDBA / MCT) preferred.
