Job Description
The Role
This position is to join the Regent Product Development team which focuses on delivering high quality
products to our customer base using a faced-paced Agile development model. The DBA will participate
in the design, implementation and administration of multiple SaaS products geared towards the higher
education market. Specifically, s/he will:
Work with Product Development Team to define and administer Regents database architecture to
provide high performance and availability.
Provide best practices for database operations of software products in a production environment.
Provide database clustering, replication and high availability database solutions.
Ensure database design is optimized and analyzed to ensure best performance possible.
Scale and tune database tier for scalability, manageability and reliability.
Review, optimize and develop stored procedures and t-sql with the development team.
Work with customers as needed on data warehouse and ETL process as needed.
Provide support for development, QA and Production databases.
Professional Requirements
BS in Computer Science or Engineering or relevant work experience.
Experience in relational data modeling.
Experience in administering MS SQL Server databases (SQL 2005 and 2008).
Prior experience in working with a development team as a DBA or database engineer.
Experience with replication and clustering with SQL Server.
Experience with SQL Server Integration Services and SQL Server Analysis Services.
SaaS experience is a definite plus.
Demonstrated ability to work with both technical and non-technical individuals, in gathering
information and communicating direction.
Must be a team player, and have excellent communication skills.
Attention to detail, and a commitment to quality work.
