Accolade is data driven company, whose business model and competitive advantage are largely based on its ability to collect, manage and utilize complex health care and third-party data from a broad array of data streams. Reporting to our Manager, DBA ? this DBA will help maintain an excellent level of service and support for Analytics, Reporting, Information Management, Business Intelligence, Data Acquisitions, Data Security, Application Development and the Actuarial Teams.
The primary responsibilities of this role would include owning, tracking and resolving database related incidents and requests, fulfilling requests and resolving incidents, reviewing service related reports (e.g.: database backups, maintenance, monitoring) on a daily basis to ensure service related issues are identified and resolved within established SLAs, responding to database related alerts and escalations and working with the data management, infrastructure and various business teams to come up with strategic solutions to recurring problems as Accolade continues to build a database management center of excellence.
This MS SQL Server DBA role requires a service oriented mentality, high sense of ownership of the problems and requests assigned, focus on managing and resolving issues in alignment with the SLAs, establishing and maintaining communication with technology customers to keep them updated with status of their requests, initiating and performing changes on production systems and proactively escalating any issues that cannot be resolved within the established timeframes.
-Experience with Database Administration for MSSQL Server.
-Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems.
-Knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics.
-Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
-Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MSSQL Server.
-Experience in implementing operational automation (e.g.: using scripts, SSIS and CA Workload Automation)
-Experience with storage planning and administration.
-Demonstrated ability to collaborate, balance priorities, plan and manage a portfolio of work across a pool of resources.
-Experience designing and deploying solutions that assure business continuity.
- Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory and proper disk configurations.
-Experience with Data Modeling in a collaborative outcomes driven design team
- Good communication and documentation skills.
Preferred candidates would also meet the following criteria:
-Previous experience or solid foundation in TSQL development.
-Involvement with the MSSQL Server Community; membership in PASS, active in forums or newsgroups.
