Duties:
Administer, test, and implement computer databases, applying knowledge of database management systems. Coordinate changes to computer databases. Design database architecture. Install, maintain, and monitor production databases. Investigate and resolve database related issues. Perform SQL tuning. Optimize database performance. Estimate database usage and analyze capacity trends. Backup/restore and provide historical data if required. Generate reports as needed. Participate in on-call rotation.
Requirements:
Employer will accept Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or related technical field, followed by five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in job offered or five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in a computer-related occupation. Experience can be gained concurrently. Experience must include:
1. Database administration experience
2. MySQL experience (3 years)
3. SQL scripting experience (2 years)
4. Database architecture design experience
5. Columnar database experience
6. Linux administration experience
7. Maintaining/administrating DBMS systems
8. Data Warehouse solutions experience
9. Real-time monitoring systems and solutions experience
10. Data analytics and capacity planning experience
11. Installation and support of web-based applications written on PHP
12. Design, develop, document, test, implement, deploy and support experience with database-related software using scripting language such as Perl
13. Experience with servers hardware, RAID and network configuration and troubleshooting.
14. Call Center experience
15. Java/JBoss experience
