SilkRoad is seeking a self-motivated Database Architect to be an important contributing member of our team. Key responsibilities include:
Works with senior developers and stakeholders as our database specialist.
Provides cutting-edge design and development expertise across a wide array of complex, enterprise-level application development tasks.
Designs, implements and takes ownership of database models and objects such as tables, views, simple and complex stored procedures (joins, group by, etc.), triggers and constraints.
Creates and maintains database design artifacts and documents (data flow diagrams, data models, ER models and architectural specifications using proper change control and versioning techniques.
Designs and develops automated routines (scripts, procedures, etc.) to facilitate the application development, functional testing, load testing and deployment process.
Drives database performance testing, optimization and tuning to meet scalability demands.
Designs and implements reporting and analytical (OLAP) database solutions.
Proactively helps resolve difficult technical issues
Collaboratively creates and expands enterprise architectural standards.

Job Specific Competencies & Skills:
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines.
Detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem resolution abilities.
Highly proficient with MS technology platform , particularly MS SQL Server, and MS Office applications, including Word, Power Point and Excel.
Proficiency with MS Visual Studio and C#; C++ is highly desirable.
Required Experience
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or related field required; Master?s degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience with Logical and Physical database design.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in development, analysis, architecture, modeling, optimization, performance tuning, administration (backups, restorations), and maintenance of database systems - Microsoft SQL.
Experience building and maintaining commercial software applications.
Software coding and experience with C# and .Net Framework 3.5 required, C++ experience preferred.
Expert knowledge and experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008.
Experience working with Microsoft Programming tools including ADO.Net, Transact-SQL, and Stored Procedures.
SQL Server upgrade experience (MS SQL Server 2005-> MS SQL Server 2008).
Deep understanding of TSQL: functions, indexes, stored procedures, views, and triggers.
Experience working with a version control system (VSS, TFS, Sub-Version or similar) required.
