Database Developer.

The Technology department is looking for a strong database developer/administrator to join the data services team. The role requires ability to design and develop database objects such as tables, indexes, triggers, stored procedures and views. An advanced ability to troubleshoot performance problems and data issues is required. Candidate should have excellent communication skills with management, development teams, business staff, vendors, systems administrators and other related service providers.



Responsibilities

Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:



Design and develop database schema, functions, tables, stored procedures for corporate Microsoft SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008 systems

Assist in tuning and optimization of reports, stored procedures and views

Support and manage SQL Server 2000 transactional and merge replication processes

Handle incoming tickets related to performance, configuration, data and reporting requests

Develop and support DTS and SSIS processes

Develop solutions and write functional and technical design documents based on requirements

Promote high quality, scalability, and timely completion of projects

Work with Application Developers, Business Analysts, and Database Team



Requirements



Minimum of 3 years experience in database development utilizing SQL Server 2005 and/or SQL Server 2008

Proven track record of experience developing stored procedures, tables, views, and functions

Detailed understanding and experience with DTS and/or SSIS

Minimum of 2 years experience developing reports using Microsoft Reporting Services

Preferred experience supporting Crystal Reports

Experience supporting a 24/7 environment

Experience working with a large highly normalized database

Prior experience working with end users to elicit and document data and reporting needs

Candidate will be a results oriented, independent thinker with a sense of urgency

Analytical with attention to detail, excellent organization and time management skills; and strong oral and written communication skills.
