Database Engineer RunKeeper

Are you a database expert that wants more than a traditional DBA role? Do you excel working for a fast paced and agile startup? We are looking for a full time Database Engineer to play a key role in supporting the scale and growth of the RunKeeper platform. You will make large contributions to design and implementation as we expand our core data infrastructure.Responsibilities:
Collaborate with a team of engineers to understand applications and operational system parameters
Contribute to design/implementation of our next gen data architecture (caching, master-slave, massive scale)
Performance tuning and optimization of the database and the server
Debug performance and configuration at the query and code level
Automate and reproduce configuration management (puppet, chef, cfegine, etc)
Requirements:
5 years of experience with PostgreSQL administration and master/slave configuration ; caching integration or NoSQL
Proficient in the configuration and installation of Linux based servers as well as supporting web applications with java, tomcat and postgres
Ability and desire to collaborate with diverse teams of engineers and consultants in support of a rapidly evolving platform
