Epocrates (www.epocrates.com) is looking or a Sr. Systems Administrator.
Performs system, application, and database administration and integration tasks;
Monitors and tunes performance for server systems including web/application stacks;
Provides support for architecture design and implementation of systems and applications.
Works with other engineers and developers to troubleshoot, install, configure, and tune applications and server systems;
Creates and maintains thorough documentation related to all systems and solutions;
Suggests, documents, and implements changes following the ITIL change management guidelines;
Develops and troubleshoots automation scripts written in various languages to support business needs;
Communicates effectively across all levels of the organization;
Assumes ownership of problems, solutions, and projects and proposes effective solutions.
Minimum Experience Required:
Deep understanding and working knowledge of the Linux operating system (LDAP, PAM, permissions, sudoers, etc);
Deep understanding and working knowledge of fundamental networking concepts (VLANs, DNS, TCP/IP, etc);
Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
In-depth experience troubleshooting, tuning, and configuring Apache/Tomcat/JVM;
In-depth experience working with and tuning load balanced applications;
Experience working with MQ software;
Experience working in a controlled/regulated environment;
Experience working with the ITIL process and framework;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Ability to write and debug bash, perl, ruby, and java scripts;
Ability to be in a 24x7x365 on-call rotation.
Experience with Mobile applications and data sync model architecture.
Experience working with and maintaining Drupal;
Experience working with Puppet or cfengine;
Experience working with MySQL and/or Oracle;
Experience working with VMware vSphere;
Experience working in an Agile environment
Red Hat Certification would be a plus.
