The Datebase Support Specialist is responsible for: the use and implementation of domain operations tools in supporting client needs and resolving their technical issues; portal support, troubleshooting, and communications to and from IT, Engineering, and Client Services Organization; DNS system support; and knowledge of a full range of SSL Cert offerings and while utilizing Symantec to provide support and ongoing management. The Level3 Support Specialist will also assist the Domain Operations Developer in updating and maintaining our multiple databases using SQL and possibly developing new tools and upgrading existing tools as directed by necessity or by management. The Level 3 Support Specialist requires extensive knowledge of domain name products and systems, and will support and interact with multiple Client Services Organization parties including but not limited to: Client Service Managers, ccTLD Specialists, and the Domain Operations Developer. The Database Support Specialist will work closely with the Level 2 Support Specialist, the Domain Operations Developer, Domain Operations Specialists and Engineering?acting as a liaison between these departments on many issues.
? Process JIRA Ticket requests from co-workers. Resolve those that can be actioned with the access provided and know/understand what resources are available to pass along those tickets where access is not sufficient.
? Establish and maintain exceptional relations with internal engineering resources and Operations staff.
? Oversight and support of the automation processes for all gTLDs and select other automated TLDs.
? Assist in managing the vendor relationship with Symantec for SSL Certs and process manual SSL Certs.
? Identify and communicate areas of product improvement and enhancement.
? Assist in creating technical training materials for the CSO.
? Share after hours on-call responsibilities.
? Process database update requests from client service managers and other co-workers.
? Manage ticketing/tracking system for action items. Perform audit of previous day?s work to ensure updates are completed accurately and correctly. Database updates and overall tracking of open issues should also be included.

?BS CS or equivalent experience.
?Excellent verbal and written communication skills cross departmentally and with clients.
?Excellent organization, management and decision-making skills.
?Ability to analyze data at very fine level of detail.
?Technical knowledge and experience with database management using SQL is required.
?Understanding of importance and urgency of client?s needs and the ability to prioritize those needs.
?Ability to debug situations and offer creative and reasonable solutions.
?Ability to work independently with little direction.
?Advanced understanding of DNS systems.
?Understanding of SSL Certificates.
?Ability to learn software programs quickly to utilize them within the position.
