As a Datacenter Engineer working on Five9?s Operations team, your mission will be to provide secure, available, scalable and operationally excellent production infrastructure.You will build, improve and manage production infrastructure in Datacenters, for use by Five9 Software-as-a-Service Call Center Solution. You will prepare, deploy and troubleshoot hardware to create hardware environments for our SaaS solution. You will identify and deliver automation improvements in maintaining large fleet of servers and write scripts to implement management solutions. You will monitor our infrastructure to prevent failures and service degradation. You will work on tasks to increase availability and scalability.
You will be working on highly visible projects that directly impact the availability and performance of services across the entire Five9 business. Your work will be fun and challenging every day and you will be working with about every other engineering and operations team at Five9.
The most successful candidates for this role will have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, systems architecture and design, great communication skills and a desire to tackle the complex problems of scale. We are particularly interested in system administrators familiar with aspects of running SaaS services at scale. Deep networking knowledge and UNIX internals are also highly desirable.
Requirements:
Minimum 4 years of Linux/Unix System Administration experience
Hands-on experience of Datacenter?s works.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve hardware problems
B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Programming experience in a scripting language (Perl, Python, Shell, Ruby)
Experience working in mission-critical, operations support environment
Good analytical and problem solving skills
Good written and oral communication skills
Experience in writing automation scripts and self-service tools
Ability to work in fast-paced environment
