Deals Desk Manager Proofpoint
The basic function of the Deal Desk is to provide direct support to the Sales Team and Management in the analysis, development, and approval of non-standard revenue deals and other legal agreements.
This position resides within the Sales Operations organization, with worldwide responsibilities.
Design and implement a WW Deals Desk practice
Hire and lead a WW team of Deal Managers tasked with:
Working with corporate stakeholders in non-standard revenue deal structuring and contract language negotiations. Deal sizes up to multi-million dollars in value consisting of software, subscription, and hardware elements. Key stakeholders include Sales, Legal, Revenue Accounting, Order Management, and Customer Services
Assist in responding to RFPs, RFQs, RFIs.
Read, interpret, and redline contractual language to ensure transactions comply with revenue recognition and business operational policies.
Collaborate with impacted parties to identify acceptable options to facilitate deal closure.
Work with Pricing to influence company pricing strategy
Provide ongoing recommendations regarding the improvement of deal desk and company deal policies.
Qualifications and Experience:
Experience leading a Deals Desk function.
Experience with both Channel and Direct Sales models is highly desirable.
Experience with pricing strategy
Extensive revenue recognition knowledge (SOP 08-1, 97-2).
Must be a self-started, detail oriented, and analytical with strong organizational skills.
Extremely strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting/Finance with over 7 years of experience.
