To assist the Driller in all ground operations dealing with the circulating system, pits and pumps. Work in the Derrick handling Tubulars, 90 above the floor.
Responsible for all of the circulating equipment.
Mud pumps, fluid end, gear end, rod oilers and charge pumps.
Pits, gun lines, agitators, shakers, hopper and water lines.
Can properly diagnose pump problems and make proper repairs.
Maintain the circulating fluid as directed by the Mud man.
Understand mud properties.
During tripping operations, is responsible for working 90 above the rig floor, latching and unlatching the drill pipe elevators.
Responsible for any work 6 or more off the Rig Floor.
Maintain the Derrick, lights, pins and lubrication.
Assists the Pusher and Driller with Rig Operations.
Takes on a leadership role, as second in command of crew.
Leads by example, adhering to Company policy.
Maintains a strong knowledge of procedures and Company policies.
Strives for growth and advancement to become a Driller.
Develops customer service abilities.
Held accountable for actions, and takes full ownership of duties.
Experience and Skills:

1-2 years of experience as a Floorhand, plus 1+ years of experience as a Motor.
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Must have good reading, writing, comprehension and organizational skills.
Must have strong leadership abilities, and be able to effectively communicate with others.
Must have the ability to problem solve, to apply critical thinking, common sense, able to reason and handle stress well.
Must be committed to a high standard of safety, and be willing and able to comply with all safety regulations and Company safety policies.
Must have a positive and professional attitude, be reliable, self-motivated and maintain a strong work ethic.
Must be willing to travel to work in Idaho.
While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, bend over, kneel, crouch and crawl.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, lift up to 100 pounds and push/pull/move up to 150 pounds.
This position requires specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to successfully perform all functions of the Human Performance Evaluation (HPE) for this position.
