Design Engineer Consultant


Responsibilities/Duties:

Provide automated design process consulting and engineering services:
oCreate 3D models and templates using CATIA V5
oWrite VBA programs and macro for automated design process
oCreate automated design process proposals for clients
oDevelop automated design process specifications
oBased on the specifications, create 3d models and write programs
oWork closely with project sponsors at their site
Facilitate client education:
oEducate clients about new processes
oGenerate ideas for effective training system and manuals.
oCreate specifications for educational materials
oDevelop educational materials including texts and manuals.
Provide Team Leadership:
oComplete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning team members; following up on work results.
oMaintain team staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
oMaintain financial job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
oContribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Other Key Responsibilities
oPrepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
oStudy new and existing legislation to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements
oEnsure operation of equipment by establishing preventive maintenance requirements and service contracts; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
oMaintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in an advanced engineering discipline required
At least 2 years of experience in modeling using CATIA V5, creating templates using knowledge function and surface modeling.
Ability to understand engineering drawings and create 3d models from them
At least 2 years of experience programming using VBA and Macro
High proficiency with EXCEL and Power Point
Demonstrated experience with process analyzing
Exhibit strong initiative, and decision making ability, be able to generate new ideas and work successfully both independently and collaboratively within a team
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with a diverse group individuals
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to travel to work sites as required for long periods of time
