General Responsibilities:
The Design Engineer for Evenflo will be responsible for new product development and sustainability / support of existing products. The Design Engineer takes marketing requirements and develops solutions that will bring concepts to realization. The Design Engineer will identify key components of the product considering cost, timing, and design for manufacturability. This position is very hands on, working closely with Product Integrity to verify and validate new products and product changes. Infrequent international travel is required.

Work with Cross Functional Teams to document and define projects
Project Planning and Scheduling / Coordination with Cross Functional teams on multiple project types
Marketing
Tooling
Procurement
Supply Chain
Product Integrity and Quality
Evenflo Asia (Engineering and Quality)
Communication with Suppliers (China, US, MX, etc?)
Create, plan and execute Engineering Change Notices
Update 3D and 2D CAD data (drawings)
Create and / or maintain Bills of Materials


Required Experience
Bachelor?s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required; Min 3 years industry experience

Required Technical Competencies

Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
Computer Skills
Proficient with MS Office Suite
Proficiency with Solid Modeling (Preferred Pro E)
Demonstrated understanding of Bills Of Materials and Engineering Change Notices
Project Experience ? understanding of design and development procedures, milestones, etc?
Design for Manufacturability
Mechanical Engineering Aptitude
Electro-Mechanical knowledge
Problem resolution / Corrective and Preventive Action


Desired Secondary Competencies

Medical Device Experience or Regulated Industry preferred
Regulatory Experience (FDA, UL, CE, CPSIA, etc?)
Demonstrated experience working on a cross functional team.
Pneumatics Experience
Electronics Experience (motors, switches, circuit boards, etc?)
Plastics experience (injection molding)
Consumer products experience (Biomechanical, Human Factors, etc?)
Experience with the International Suppliers (Asia, Mexico)
