THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Job Description / Responsibilities:
This position will support the development of the turbocharger systems for a new line of 30L to 45L heavy-duty diesel engines. Responsibilities is to produce turbocharger specifications and RFP documents to meet engine application requirements through collaboration with the Engine Performance Center (EPC) and L4/L5 teams. Provide turbocharger engineering expertise to select turbochargers for on-engine evaluation to meet performance and reliability / durability requirements established by the engine program. Design and or collaborate on Pro/E concepts of connecting components and duct designs. Participate and conduct design reviews relating to turbocharger product design projects. Responsible for the quality of drawings and drawing wrappers provided to checking. Responsibility includes assurance all release requirements are met (APQP, validation, etc.) Produce RFQ?s and purchase order requests to procure parts from suppliers for performance and validation testing. Collaborate closely with the turbo supplier to specify, design, validate and release turbocharger products to meet the program requirements and milestone dates. Support Technical Center in lab activities pertaining to turbo validation and performance activities. Apply turbocharger group?s standard work, including completion of PRA / TRA with supplier, and propose and/or implement improvements as needed. Responsible to insure APQP and other standard NPI processes are followed in release of turbocharger product.
?Technical background with engine and/or engine components.
?Firsthand experience with turbo machinery, diesel engine performance and turbocharger product design and development.
?Background in coordinating engineering projects and change work to engineering suppliers.
Fundamental knowledge of engines and engine systems. Cost reduction experience and experience in GD&T, CPPD, APQP, FMEA, 6 Sigma
Minimum Education: BSME
