The Role

A launch leader - chassis systems is responsible for the coordination and execution of all in-plant launch activities of suspension, steering, brake, and structural subframe components and associated systems in support of current and future vehicle programs as well as coordination with Chassis Design engineering for required design and functional changes.

Responsibilities

• Lead all Chassis Systems launch activities for current and future vehicle programs. Coordinate with plant staff to ensure timely and efficient plant ramp up.
• Lead resolution of Chassis Systems quality and fit/assembly issues throughout launch and subsequent on-going production.
• Drive required design changes of chassis components and systems in conjunction with Chassis Design activities.
• Interface with suppliers, SQA and supply chain team to resolve component quality, fit/finish and delivery concerns.
• Technically contribute to the design, architecture, component selection, and optimization activities of the chassis systems to ensure a high quality and efficient launch and ramp-up.
• Drive the creation of component assembly documentation and coordinate with manufacturing engineering on creation of process sheets and other manufacturing documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science of Mechanical Engineering, Master's Degree preferred.
• Hands-on experience in chassis systems launch and manufacturing activities.
• Working knowledge in 3D CAD modeling software (CATIA, Pro-Engineer, Unigraphics) desired â€" Minimum of 2 years experience, CATIA v5 preferred.
