Are you one of the best designer / draftsman in your field but looking for a great challenge in an exciting new field ? the commercial space industry? Do you get excited by taking the initial ideas of an engineer colleague and turning it into something that a machinist can make in house or externally? Can you spend up to a year working in the California high desert, and then come with XCOR to Midland, Texas? If you answered yes to all of these questions, then XCOR would like to talk to you.OVERVIEW ?
XCOR is seeking an experienced designer/draftsman with at least three years practical experience. The successful candidate must have a demonstrated and excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Knowledge of, and experience with, other computer graphics programs is a plus. Must be able to work to engineering direction and be able to take rough sketches through to assembly drawings and will be demonstrated prior to employment. Must be able to follow directions while paying close attention to details and should be able to handle several projects at the same time. Must possess the ability to meet deadlines in addition to being a self-starter and a team player.
QUALIFICATIONS ?
- Degree is not required but helpful.
- Knowledge of ANSI Standards required.
- Knowledge of machining and manufacturing standards required.
- Knowledge AutoCAD and SolidWorks required.
REQUIREMENTS ?
Must be 18 years or older.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and climb a 30? ladder.
Must be a U.S. citizen or hold Resident Alien status (aka Green Card).
Must be proficient in spoken and written standard American English.
References required and will be checked. Background check will be performed.
MISCELLANEOUS ?
Employee will have ?on the job training? in Mojave, CA through mid-2013, after which the position will relocate to the new R & D Headquarters in Midland, TX. The specific date of the Midland move is to be determined.
