Desktop Engineer Vesta

POSITION SUMMARY: This role is responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance and support of the IT technologies that run Vesta's internal business operations.
Ensures the timely resolution of system issues so performance and availability targets are met.
Complies with established security guidelines, approved standards, and approved company policies and procedures.
Plans, implements, and designs technology solutions of moderate to difficult complexity.
Analyzes, troubleshoots, and assists in resolving hardware, application and operating system issues.
Evaluates and recommends operating systems and hardware design details in current and approved technology standards.
Performs operating system related software installations, patches and upgrades.
Respond, update and manage IT request and incidents in the ticketing system.
Monitors and fine tunes application systems and software to optimize system performance ? including ensuring indexes are performed.
Utilizes system automation and monitoring tools to maximize work efficiency.
Collaborate with other IT teams to escalate and resolve critical requests.
Establishes and maintains a Recovery Plan that meets established business requirements to mitigate data loss.
Documents internal application systems and processes that support business operations.
Identifies deficiencies in assigned infrastructure and recommends technology solutions that increase overall operational efficiency.
Develop communication models to ensure information is disseminated as needed to end users and technical staff.
Develops and maintains a strong knowledge of assigned technologies and methodologies available to provide optimal solutions.
Provides technical mentoring/coaching to team members. Presents technical topics to global team members as appropriate.
Fosters innovation by soliciting ideas, information and feedback from team members.
Be a champion for the IT department and all initiatives and projects.
Positive role model and mentor to others in IT.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
BA/BS in Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum six (6) years working in the Desktop Engineer or Systems Administration role in a fast paced environment managing images, software deployment, windows and software patching, mobile device management, telepresence and VDI.
Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
Must have demonstrated history of impeccable integrity, ethics and fair play.
Self-starter and a team player that will thrive in a fast paced environment.
High level of proficiency with MS Office tools.
Strong organizational skills
Must be able to work independently and display initiative, self-motivation and dedication necessary for timely and successful work completion
