Desktop Network Support Specialist Biomedix Vascular Solutions
Description: BioMedix is a developer, manufacturer, and worldwide distributor of vascular diagnostic devices and software solutions. BioMedix currently has an immediate, full time opening for a highly motivated, professional Desktop Network Support Specialist, with good communication and team working skills, and excellent attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task, and follow through.
Responsible for day-to-day IT activities that include network configuration, installation and maintenance; Duties include managing LAN/WAN, network management, hardware/software/wiring installation and administration of the network; Maintain email related services; Ongoing troubleshooting hardware, software, virus and malware on local and remote systems; Work as part of an IT team to provide support for our company.
Essential Job Functions:
Work with routers, firewalls, hardware, software, cabling and servers
Troubleshoot desktop and network hardware/software problems
Install and maintain desktop/laptop computer hardware and software
Prepare laptop computers, for remote users, for shipping
Install and maintain devices and device drivers connected to computers
Provide remote user support
Monitor daily backup.
Maintain network and software security.
Network/Email/Phone/voicemail user setup and support
Coordinate computer, printer, network and equipment repairs.
Good communication skills - verbal and written
Ability to learn and grasp relevant computer applications
Problem analysis and problem-solving with attention to detail and accuracy
Customer service orientation
Experience with hardware and software applications such as Dell Computers, printers, Scanners, Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
Understand the role of the Desktop Network Support Specialist as it relates to the policies and procedures of the BioMedix Quality System
Non-Essential Job Functions:
Train end-users in computer applications as needed.
Train end-users on phone system
Great Plains Dynamics user support
Contacts technical vendors and contractors as needed.
Maintain administrative installations for patching OS and Office

High school diploma plus two or more years technical coursework in Networking or Applications and one or more years relevant job experience, or equivalent training and/or experience.
Ability to use judgment in situations for which there are no precedents.
