Position Description:
The Desktop Support Administrator performs duties that include maintaining all corporate laptops, desktops, and peripheral equipment related to end users as well as providing day-to-day desktop and user support within the Brookfield office. This individual will work with other members of the Hosting Services team to deliver high quality solutions to support our internal users. The Desktop Administrator will work primarily with Windows operating systems (XP, 7) and the full suite of Microsoft Office applications. The position must respect and protect the confidential nature of the work of the Company and internal users.
Essential Responsibilities/Duties:
Provide desktop hardware and software support for internal and remote employees.
Provide onsite and remote desktop and user support help, setup, and configuration.
Maintain local spare laptops and peripherals.
Repair laptop/desktops, both internally and via vendor support.
Perform tape and disk-based backups for corporate and production environments as well as maintaining offsite tape rotation strategies.
Required for both on-hours and off-hours support.
Manage antivirus/spyware software and updates.
Provide corporate networking and security support to internal users and to external client requests.
Provide support for deployments to our hosting facility and for installed solutions in an on-call rotation schedule.
Assume primary desktop administrator responsibilities within Connecture's Brookfield office location.
Creation of system images and quarterly updates using corporate-approved imaging tool.
Maintain system images for Disaster Recovery.
Maintain support contracts with hardware and software vendors.
Create purchase orders.
Independently lead various internal projects to manage computer network, internet and database administration.
Conduct independent analysis and draft reports.
Formulate recommendations regarding company hardware and software purchases.
Non-Essential Responsibilities/Duties:

Qualifications:
Bachelors or Associates degree, or equivalent work experience.
3+ years experience as a desktop support technician with coordinated experience in Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, and Windows Updates preferred.
Experience with HP Laptop hardware preferred.
Experience with Windows 2000, Windows 2003, and Windows 2008 (R2), along with Windows XP and Windows 7 required.
Experience with Acronis Imaging Software preferred.
Proficiency with various Microsoft computer applications such as Word, Excel PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Other Qualification:
Detailed-oriented.
Strong organizational skills.
Must be able to comprehend and perform job duties without a lot of direction; self-starter/self-motivator.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, a must.
Strong and solid understanding of system troubleshooting skills required.
Client facing/Professional Services experience preferred.
Strong documentation skills including experience creating instructional documentation for user's systems.
Able to work independently and adjust to changing priorities.
Responds strongly and positively to challenging work and deadlines and is able to work in fast paced, dynamic and team oriented environment.
Any experience with corporate office moves/relocation a plus.
Work Conditions:
Office environment most of the time, with an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation, and emphasizing positive, timely communication. Hours may fluctuate based on work priorities and demands of department.
