Currently we have an opening for a Desktop Support / Network Administrator. This full time position is responsible for providing support in a mixed environment of PC?s and Mac?s in a Windows Enterprise LAN/WAN.
The successful candidate will have at least two years of experience in a similar position and possesses the following:
In depth knowledge of all hardware platforms and Windows and Mac operating systems
Experience with Microsoft Active Directory 2003/2008, DHCP, DNS and TCP/IP
Understanding of network components such as servers, hubs, routers, etc.
Strong troubleshooting skills
Experience with LAN cabling and connections
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
Experience with the following is a plus:
Imaging software like Ghost or Acronis
MS IIS and/or Apache
BMC TrackIT or other help desk systems
Windows SUS or similar patching software
Lenovo ThinkPads, Dell OptiPlex Desktops and PowerEdge Servers
Cisco networking experience
Duties include but are not limited to:
Administer and monitor the IT helpdesk to identify and address end user customer issues in a timely manner
Desktop hardware and software setup and maintenance
Basic server hardware and software set up
Anti-virus/Anti-spyware setup and maintenance
Network connectivity troubleshooting, both local and remote including remote access VPN
Active Directory administration
Maintain backup solutions across specific Linux and Microsoft servers
Provide some after-hours on call support to remote and home VPN end users, as well as corporate IT environment
Monitor, identify, and address desktop and applicable server configuration fixes, bug fixes, and patches, as needed
Maintain asset inventory of all deployed IT-related hardware and applications software; assure valid software licensing and auditing; and service maintenance for both hardware and software products
Additional required skills:
Capacity to multi-task and self-manage time and priorities
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
Proven customer service skills
Attention to detail and good follow-through and communication
Strong writing skills for the production of clear and concise end user documentation, as well as procedural documentation for IT
Ability to travel on short notice, valid California Driver?s License and proof of insurance with a vehicle in good working order
Occasional after hours and weekend work (1 to 2 times per month)
Capable of routinely lifting up to 50 lbs.
The right candidate would have experience with end user support and network administration in a software development environment to be able to support and assist the company.
