Desktop Support Specialist The Rubicon Project
We are in search of a Desktop Support Specialist who has the passion and desire to optimize our internal IT infrastructure. This person strives for excellent customer service, has a friendly and helpful attitude, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced high tech environment. This candidate will also be viewed as a technical leader and resource for other IT Helpdesk personnel and interns.
? Build, configure, maintain and manage systems on Windows, MAC and Linux platforms
? Responsible for the ghosting process, using Symantec Ghost, for machine deployment
? Troubleshoot computer hardware, printer, video conferencing equipment and software problems to resolve issues.
? Troubleshoot standard phone, mobile phone, and mobile device issues
? Recommend procedures and standards to improve the quality and delivery of service to customers
? Working knowledge of AD, Exchange, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN
? Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future desktop hardware needs
? Provide Tier-2 support, records and escalate incidents and requests as required ensuring the quality of service and within established SLA?s
? Maintain adequate knowledge of operating systems and application software used to provide a high level of support
? Provide leadership to the team, including mentoring and training of new team members.
? On-Call Rotation required
? Experience with Windows, Mac, and Linux/Unix operating systems
? Experience with Active Directory
? Experience with networking protocols and fundamentals (HTTP, SMTP, DHCP, DNS, ARP, TCP, UDP, etc.
? Experience with Symantec Ghost or similar
? Experience with storage and backup technologies (Backup Exec)
? Highly developed verbal and written communications, including documentation writing
? Ability to prioritize tasks
? Must have outstanding customer service skills, professionalism and great attitude
? Must be able to work flexible hours, be willing to travel (rare) and be assigned to on-call rotation when necessary.
? Bachelor?s Degree preferred in a computer related field or 3 years of equivalent required.
? Certifications: MSCE preferred but not required.
