About the Role:
We are looking for experienced Dev/Ops Engineers with AWS/EC2 experience skills to join our development team. As part of the core engineering team, you will work closely with a group of hard-working, super smart engineers in a fast-paced, challenging environment. As our Dev/Ops Engineer, you will be helping to design and implement scalable systems that keep backend infrastructure running smoothly.
Responsibilities:
--Working with the team to design and build scalable systems that support high traffic web services and back-end tools and applications.
--Planning and executing projects to improve production infrastructure.
--Performing and automating production deployments.
--Monitoring, maintaining and optimizing production systems.
--Working closely with developers and other staff to solve operational issues with our services, tools and apps.
--Scheduling, coordinating and communicating maintenance windows.
--Ensuring the security of our critical systems
Requirements:
--Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical discipline.
--Experience administering large-scale web applications on modern platforms (Apache, PHP, Rails, Django, etc)
--Experience automating large scale deployments with modern configuration and deployment management systems (Puppet, cfengine, Chef, Capistrano, Fabric, etc)
--Experience administering mission-critical Linux (Debian, Ubuntu, Red Hat, etc) and Windows production servers.
--Production experience build scalable systems (load balancers, memcached, master/slave architectures, sharding, Nginx, RabbitMQ)
--Ability to maintain, monitor and optimize production database servers (MySQL, Hadoop, Hive, H-Base)
--Ability to carry out monitoring and performance metrics analysis using common monitoring tools (Nagios, Cacti, Munin, Ganglia, Hyperic, etc)
--Knowledge of best practices relating to security, performance, monitoring
--Proficiency in Python, Ruby and shell scripting.
--Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
