About the Role:
The Dev Ops role is part of a team responsible for the design, build and monitoring of our production application and systems infrastructure. In this role you will participate in the infrastructure management of our cloud based storage while implementing and managing the automation of our systems. You are energetic, very organized and can prioritize and multitask in our fast paced environment. You'd be bored if that weren't the case! You'll be responsible for:
Responsible for and assists in the troubleshooting and resolution of infrastructure problems
Performs application profiling, capacity planning, workload modeling and forecasting on systems, networks and storage.
Designs, prepares and conducts new technology evaluations to determine infrastructure solutions based on business requirements and makes recommendations for improvement of infrastructure, technology, operational capability, reliability and performance.
Manages day to day operations of the monitoring system to ensure stability, reliability and availability of applications and services for the business.
Full-stack troubleshooting and resolution of monitoring issues; reporting of key Monitoring KPI?s and metrics.
Responsible for reporting of system and storage allocation, usage trends, I/O performance and bottleneck analysis
Responsible for developing, maintaining and documenting technology standards used in the environment.
B.S. in Computer Science or similar area of study plus 5+ years experience with performance analysis, systems software, and systems architecture. Digital advertising experience a PLUS!
Experience in systems management, maintenance, forecasting and lifecycle planning focused on business requirements.
Extensive experience in maintaining and scaling a Chef based system running on AWS.
Proficiency in Rails, MySQL required
Familiarity with the following technologies highly preferred: Node.JS, Hadoop, Oozie, Hive, Kafka,, Redis
Proven track record of scaling geo-distributed systems leveraging DNS and CDN technologies.
Demonstrated ability to engage with business owners to understand their requirements, develop strategies to support business goals.
General enthusiasm towards creating new tools that can help an agile engineering team maintain quality, and also build, test and deploy new features.
Personal and team accountability will be fundamental to your success in this role. Establishment and evolution of key metrics, ranging from operational to relevant business insight is critical to success.
