About the position
Currently, we are looking for an evangelist type person ? someone who can explain technology to different audiences in different formats like written content, formal presentations or casual talks. We need someone who is technical but also capable at getting techies excited about JRebel and capable of partnering with our strategic business development manager in key sales situations.
Rebel Labs contributor (50%) ? Rebel Labs is the content division of ZeroTurnaround and quickly becoming a content powerhouse in the java community. Rebel Labs is responsible for content, written and video, on big industry topics as well as deep diving into very technical reports.
This role will be expected to deliver blog posts, video, social media and reports around Rebel Labs chosen topics as well as topics chosen by you.
We expect you to have opinions and the confidence to share them with the community.

JRebel Advocacy (50%)
US JUGS ? Being a dev facing company we spend a lot of time giving presentations and JUGs as well as developing new ways to work with JUGs, this would be a major function of your role and would work very closely with our European advocate.
Upsell ? We run a very integrated marketing and sales effort where marketing is instrumental in up selling high value clients. Face time with the client is sometimes need and the role of the developer advocate as much of the conversation is technical and demo related.
Onboarding ? immediately follow the sales process many clients benefit from having our technical gurus help them roll our software out across their whole team.
Conference attendance ? this one speaks for itself. Being one of the major faces of ZeroTurnaround one of your major roles will be conference attendance and networking.
Webinar/Videos ? Outside of creating content for Rebel Labs this role will also entail webinar creation around our products and industry topics as well as a lot of video creation.
Dev diving ? How can we reach more developers?
What qualifies you for this role
You are technical! You get Java and can talk to Java engineers on their level; 3-5 years of experience as a Java developer is a must ? do not have to be active now, but recent helps
You understand and engage with social media ? actively participate in a wide variety of social media activities to increase brand visibility, etc
You understand the value content brings to marketing and sales (inbound marketing) and you have extensive experience writing technically oriented content
Ability to interact with a sales team ? proven track record of such
Experience and very comfortable with public speaking
An understanding of the sales process
Willing and ready to travel up to 50% of the time
You can transcend the standard expectations of an ?evangelist?
