Acquia is seeking a Developer Evangelist who will drive Drupal evangelism, developer engagement, and Acquia awareness.
As a Developer evangelist, you?ll be expected to teach and inspire. You?ll be part of Acquia?s marketing team, but focused on ?new? marketing in form of creating authentic technical thought leadership and developer community engagement. You will work closely with Drupal?s project lead and Acquia founder Dries Buytaert, and his team, to spread the gospel of Acquia and Drupal to customers, prospects, partners, and the community. With Drupal 8 on the horizon, this position will play a pivotal role in helping ensure Acquia is supporting a successful launch, and recognized as the market leading provider of Drupal 8 solutions. This requires both external marketing, and a focus on internal enablement to make sure all Acquia employees are up to speed on Drupal 8 and how we?re supporting it.
What else will you be doing in this role?
1) You?ll create authentic and remarkable content for developers, typically in the forms of blogs, webinars, product demonstrations, and videos. You?ll be active in social media, and use it effectively to spread your ideas.
2) You?ll engage the Drupal community through participation and technical presentations at community events including DrupalCons and Camps, attending hackathons, as well as developing deep relationships with other Drupal community leaders.
3) You will spend time with Acquia customers, prospects, and partners, helping ensure developers understand the technical benefits of Acquia?s products.
Unbridled passion for Drupal, with a history of Drupal development illustrated by your drupal.org profile.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You are comfortable speaking in front of large audiences, and your blog is well followed by developers.
Desired, but not required (we will train you!):
1-2 years experience in a devops capacity with responsibility for security, hosting, and maintaining the site (in addition to developing it!)
Familiarity with the current hosting and cloud landscape, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS markets.
Develop deep relationships with Drupal community leaders and influencers.
Drive thought leadership for Acquia via technical content creation in the form of blog posts, webinars, product demonstrations, videos, and technical presentations at Drupal community events.
Up-level the value of Drupal into simple messages that focus on business value compared to competitive offerings, and help our sales team with effective selling strategies.
Champion Drupal information sharing and positioning within the Analyst and Press community.
Frequent travel required.
