Job Duties:
Inspire, equip, and help developers in the Avalara community to build the fastest and easiest solution to their tax challenges
Generate content - blog posts, sample code, screencasts, how-tos, tweets ? or whatever gets the word out & helps developers discover Avalara and our API
Provide world-class support on Avalara forums, email, social networks and wherever else technical questions arise
Gather and socialize feedback that will inform Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Sales decisions
Experience and Skills:
You love building and launching things
Youre vocal in online and offline developer communities; you blog and frequently talk shop on Twitter, forums, IRC, etc
You revel in the success of those you help - you love to help developers build great things
You have excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience building community around something you are passionate about (from music to sports to all things technical/geeky)
Ability to have fun at work while maintaining unwavering professionalism and high productivity
You keep up with recent trends and have experience in integrating or customizing software utilizing Web Services and REST
You have experience in multiple languages such as C#, Java, Python, Ruby, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience as a web developer, technical evangelist, technical product manager or other role where both technical and social skills are required
Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset
Strong technical presentation skills
A bias towards action and the ability to work well in a fast-paced and constantly changing startup environment
A degree from a competitive schools where you focused on writing: software or English - either's good
