We are seeking an experienced development manager to lead the Mobile Products Team. The team is responsible for developing Devicescape?s phone and device software for primarily mobile carriers. Devicescape?s solutions are designed to run on a variety of platforms, however our current focus is on Android.Details of Responsibilities
The Development Manager is responsible for managing a team of software developers and QA engineers developing the Devicescape Offload Client and SDKs. Responsibilities include day-to-day people management, hiring, project management and technical mentoring.
Devicescape promotes an Agile development process, and the candidate is expected to understand and further develop this process internally at Devicescape. If you like ?big designs up front? and Gant charts, this isn?t the right fit!
The team culture is that of a start-up, but one that has revenue ? the successful candidate should enjoy multi-tasking, being busy and rolling their sleeves up.
Additionally, it is expected that some of the client team projects shall be outsourced to 3rd party vendors, so experience with outsourcing and remote project management is preferred.
Required experience and knowledge
Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Development Manager in a related space, preferably working with mobile carriers and handset OEMs directly
Practical knowledge of Agile development processes
A history of developing and launching successful software products, and a track record of success at previous companies
Experience with managing out-sourced contract engineering projects
Extensive experience developing mobile applications required, especially on Android ? no exceptions
Leadership and initiative to get multiple tasks completed independently
Excellent written and verbal skills, and the ability to present and interact with customers and partners
Solid technical background, with an understanding of networking, Wi-Fi, mobile communication and mobile platforms
Desire to work in a small startup-like environment and take on multiple responsibilities
Bachelor's degree (Masters preferred)
