The heart of Devicescape service is the Curated Virtual Network - a crowd-sourced Wi-Fi network that is ?Curated??the careful, repeated validation and monitoring of millions of amenity (free, public, and intentionally shared) Wi-Fi access points. Our products go beyond simple Wi-Fi offload, as Devicescape uses Intelligent Network Selection to automatically connect mobile devices to the best network at the best time.
Devicescape?s mobile products include the Devicescape Curator Client ? an intelligent network selection application for smartphones, tablets, laptops and other wireless devices.
Devicescape is seeking a world-class software development manager to lead the development of our mobile and OEM products.
The Development Manager is responsible for managing a team of US based software developers who are building Devicescape?s mobile products and SDKs. Responsibilities include day-to-day people management, hiring, project management and technical mentorship.
We are looking for someone who is excited about technology in the mobile space, inventive, and enjoys a fast-paced company environment.
A senior level position will be considered based on the candidate?s experience.
Minimum 5+ years of experience as a development manager in a related space
A history of developing and launching successful software products, and a track record of success at previous companies
Extensive experience developing mobile applications required, specifically on Android ? no exceptions
Experience with Agile product development
Experience with managing out-sourced contract engineering projects
Familiarity with other platforms such as Apple iOS, Windows 8 Phone, Windows and Mac
Familiarity with wireless and mobile technologies such as Wi-Fi, GSM, LTE etc.
Leadership and initiative to get multiple tasks completed independently
Excellent written and verbal skills, and the ability to present and interact with customers and partners
Desire to work in a small startup environment and take on multiple responsibilities
Bachelor's degree (Masters preferred)
