Device and Formulation Technician Plextronics

Full-Time, Temporary Position (6 months)

Plextronics is looking for a Device and Formulation Technician to clean, prep, and deliver OPV devices in a timely fashion for testing. The Technician will also assist scientists with the measurement and analysis of OPV device films for efficiency improvement.
On a daily basis, the Technician will:

- Clean and prepare OPV devices for efficiency measurements. Includes chemically removing thin films from device leads and applying silver paste coating to the leads;
- Measure thickness, optical absorption, optical microscopy of devices and thin films. The Technician will be expected to use an atomic force microscope (AFM) to measure thin film characteristics;
- Document film and device measurements;
- Work closely with chemists and physicists to support thin film characterization.

On an as needed basis, the Technician will assist with ink formulation and spin coating of organic films.
The Technician will be expected to work with the following tools and equipment on a regular basis:

- AFM
- Optical microscope
- Profilometer
- UV vis spectrometer
- Laurell spin coater
- Glovebox
- Silver paste
- Chemicals for cleaning devices

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

- The availability to work full time, on a daily basis.
- Training as chemical lab technician with experience in nanotechnology-related characterization methods;
- Previous experience with AFM is a plus;
- Good dexterity and the ability to handle, manipulate, and transfer glass plates for respective analysis;
- Excellent documentation and organizational skills;
- Excellent time management skills;
- Ability to work in a team environment;
- Very self motivated.
