Description
Device Engineer
The Device Engineer will work closely with Advanced R&D Scientists and Manufacturing Engineers to provide technical leadership in the manufacturing improvement of PV panels. This person will use experience and the scientific method to increase panel efficiency and reliability.
Responsibilities:
? Electrical, electro-optical characterization of sub-modules and completed solar modules
? Coordination with other engineering groups to evaluate and qualify new process technologies and their integration to enhance module performance and reliability
? Establish product design criteria for particular improvement approaches and testing of devices or test structures to validate the new process/product
? Define test methodology and test coverage to assure product reliability
? Characterize and understand the mechanisms of module stability/reliability
? Utilize deep understanding in module stability/reliability to develop accelerated tests
? Develop new cutting-edge diagnostics for looking at stability/reliability issues in the modules
Job Qualifications:
? Masters or Ph.D. in. Solid State Physics, Electrical Engineering or Materials Science. Significant understanding of device physics and modeling is preferred.
? 5+ years experience in device Integration of solar modules in high volume manufacture or related manufacturing industry.
? Expertise in photovoltaic metrology tools and analytical techniques - PL, EL, IR, QE, XRF etc. Characterization of thin films and semiconductor material interfaces is a plus.
? Extensive skill in utilizing and developing advanced numerical data analysis capability is expected;
? Demonstrated capability in experimental design, uncertainty analysis, and statistical interpretation.
? Outstanding writing and verbal skills
? Outstanding collaborative skills; Strong ability to work with a multidisciplinary team for process development
