THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED MarketLive is looking for a talented, outgoing and motivated DevOps Architect for the Product Development group. As a DevOps leader you will be responsible for guiding how we change our product and production management processes to make provisioning, upgrades and deployment easier, faster and more maintainable. MarketLive today deploys our infrastructure in our own data centers on the East and West Coast. We have a major initiative to turn that infrastructure into a private cloud and also to move the product to be deployable in public clouds, such as Amazon Web Services, while maintaining a consistent operational model and our 99.99% application uptime SLAs.
Our eCommerce platform is a highly scalable, multi-threaded Java application that is built on Spring, Struts, Tiles and Hibernate. We are also using MongoDB, RabbitMQ and SOLR. All of this runs on Solaris operating system. As the successful candidate you will have an expert knowledge of these technologies. You will also be pivotal in the adoption and deployment of new technologies as we evolve and develop our application. The successful candidate will have a massive impact on the way we conduct our business and deploy our infrastructure.
This role reports to the CTO but is a role that directly impacts Product Development and Managed Services. The successful candidate will have the personality, determination and tenacity to bring together cross-functional teams to achieve our immediate and long-term goals.
A minimum of 10 years experience as a software developer, at least 3 years in DevOps/Ops.
Strong, demonstrable development skills in Java utilizing development frameworks like Spring and Hibernate
Experience working with MongoDB and RabbitMQ strongly desired (other NoSQL and MQ technologies accepted)
Experience deploying large scale web application infrastructure
Familiarity with cloud deployment environments like Amazon Web Services and tools such as Eucalyptus
Familiarity with web services (especially restful services using JAX-RS)
Familiarity with web frameworks like Struts or SpringWeb
Strong knowledge of web application security
Unix administration skills (Solaris preferred, Linux accepted)
Relational database skills (Oracle preferred)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
BSCS or equivalent required
Experience working in a SaaS or PaaS environment a strong plus
Experience with Git and Maven
Experience with Nagios and JMX
Experience working in an agile development methodology, preferably Scrum
