The primary responsibility of the Billtrust DevOps Engineer is to design, implement and support tools that will support development and QA efforts at Billtrust. Billtrust is looking for a DevOps Engineer with a passion for cloud computing, infrastructure as code and monitoring and maintaining highly-available web applications.
The DevOps Engineer will work closely with our software development team to ensure the developers and QA have the tools needed to build, test, and deploy code with ease. He/she will build custom engineering tools and integrate existing tools.
In addition to helping to maintain developer and QA engineer satisfaction, the DevOps Engineer will help monitor/secure our cloud infrastructure in an effort to ensure 24/7 availability. This person will write/test/maintain our library of tools and scripts used to create our cloud clusters.
Develop, plan, and implement automated application deployments to a virtualized environment.
Drive technical innovation and efficiency in cloud infrastructure operations via automation.
Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and complex problem resolution.
Monitoring and maintaining application environment stability.
Work effectively with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and identify and resolve technical design issues.
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering Technology, or technical degree and/or certifications.
Experience with automated deployment environments.
Experience with automation using dynamic languages (Python, Ruby, etc), shell scripting and/or PowerShell.
Experience with system build tools like Chef and Puppet.
Experience deploying and operating Linux variants and/or Windows in a cloud environment.
Experience deploying legacy enterprise applications in a cloud environment.
Ability to work as part of a team in building, administering, and deploying automated systems and application deployments.
Knowledge and experience in supporting and troubleshooting networking services and protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, LDAP, FTP, SSH, SMTP, SSL and HTTP.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly in documenting and teaching installation and configuration processes.
