Position Summary:
- The first full time devops hire into a 5 year old engineering team
- Will have to institute better processes for release management than we currently have in a SaaS business
- Will have to institute better tool processes for support things in the cloud with Managed Services team
- Perfect candidate will also help bridge gap with technical support and bring architecture experience to engineering team
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work with engineering and service delivery teams to build supportable systems
- Leverage products like Nagios, Zenoss, Puppet, Chef, Cacti, Jenkins, Maven, Loggly, GIT
- Create a scaled production environment in which service-oriented components that leverage ever-increasing data volumes beat customer responsiveness needs
Required Skills and Experience:
- 4+ years of experience delivering devops solutions
- 2+ years of experience delivering those solutions in a high-volume production environment
- Proven track record of driving solutions to completion
- Experience working with Network Architects, Systems Architects, and developers
- Systems-level experience with Linux, JavaEE, REST web services, and Tomcat
- Systems-level comfort with medium to large SQL database structures and instances
- Fluid with both Linux and Windows
- Written and verbal communication skills
