DSC is rapidly growing and we have an opportunity for a Diagnostic Supervisor in our Chantilly, VA location. Qualified candidates must be able to work well in a small company atmosphere and have excellent communication skills.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising, coordinating, and participating in the diagnosis and repair of electronic and optical devices, sub-assemblies, and systems. Interfaces with engineering groups in the identification and implementation of the appropriate diagnostic tools, equipment, and documentation necessary to accomplish tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee and participate in the troubleshooting, diagnosis and resolution of difficult problems related to CCA?s, electronic devices, and electrical/optical systems.
Provide recommendations regarding design for test, troubleshooting, and repair. Formulate methods and guidelines toward optimizing diagnostic processes.
Interface with engineering groups in the identification and implementation of the appropriate diagnostic tools, equipment, and documentation necessary to accomplish tasks.
Operate a variety of tools and electronic testing equipment such as analyzers, volt and current meters, oscilloscopes, multi-meters, and signal generators. Operate computers and assigned software; work from oral and written instructions, technical manuals, engineering schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and specifications.
Assist in the set up and programming of specialized systems.
Prepare and maintain a variety of records and reports related to assigned activities.
Serve as a technical resource to the manufacturing organization concerning electrical systems.
Train and supervise assigned personnel; coordinate and schedule electronic repair, provide input regarding performance appraisals.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Associates degree in Electrical or electronics technology, successful completion of an approved apprenticeship program in electronics, or comparable military training.
10+ years of hands-on experience.
Team player with the ability to work in a faced-paced multi-disciplined environment.
Ability to work closely with all key stakeholders to communicate progress and facilitate buy-in.
Proven track record as an innovative and resourceful problem solver.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to motivate and drive other team members.
Experienced in the utilization of analytical skills to resolve problems. Ability to analyze data, determines root cause, provide solutions, and implement.
Proficiency with MS-Excel, Access, and Word.
Thorough understanding of methods, materials, tools, testing devices, and equipment used in the electronics trade.
Ability to work effectively from technical manuals, shop drawings, wiring diagrams, blueprints, schematics, specifications and catalogs.
Experience in planning, assessing and implementing new business systems.
Experienced in the utilization of JTAG test systems.
Familiarity with Statistical tools and software.
Team oriented leadership skills
DSC product designs include a variety of complex cutting edge technologies including Lasers, sensors, cameras, fiber optics, electronics, and software; therefore experience pertaining to those fields is highly desirable.
Ability to frequently sit, reach within hands and arms length, climb, and crouch.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and use of computer monitor screens a great deal of time.
Frequently required to use office equipment such as PC, copier, etc.
Individual?s primary workstation is located in the production/manufacturing/lab areas.
