The Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for correctly maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing complex semiconductor manufacturing equipment to achieve manufacturing process yield and productivity goals. Provide a level of equipment maintenance support that will result in improved machine availability and performance, manage equipment resources to improve equipment management indices, such as cycle time and cost of ownership. Anticipates and diagnoses problems, performs scheduled maintenance procedures, records machine status and requirements, maintains spare parts inventory and various other activities related to the success of the assigned process area.
Monitors, maintains, and performs a variety of complex repairs on semiconductor wafer fabrication equipment to insure uninterrupted production flow. May perform periodic preventative maintenance as required and defined by the area specifications.
Provides technical support in the form of troubleshooting, diagnostics, adjustments, repair, modifications, assembly and calibration of equipment according to specifications, blueprints, manuals or written instructions.
Utilizes a structured and comprehensive method to identify the root cause of process or equipment malfunctions; implements corrective action after thorough analysis to increase the probability of the right fix the first time.
Performs electrical, mechanical, and software troubleshooting for all area equipment. This includes tools, cables, test fixtures, gas and vacuum systems.
Checks and Calibrates equipment as required by area specifications.
Maintains accurate logs of work performed, modifications, calibrations, and adjustments.
May perform tool modifications, assist in designing fixtures, and hard down action plans.
Trouble shoot defectivity and process shifts as indicated by SPC.
Use fab guard to diagnose equipment problems and potential problems.
Provide area leadership. Mentor less experienced techs and drive area expectations. Strong team member.
Maintain area 5S and drive technician efficiency.
Works with very little or no supervision.
Provides detailed reports on root cause, tool modifications, etc
