NetSpend Corporation is a leading provider of prepaid debit cards in the U.S. Prepaid debit cards are experiencing dramatic growth in consumer adoption. The company's debit cards enable anyone to make purchases, pay bills, secure reservations, and shop online without needing a traditional bank account or access to a credit card.
NetSpend Direct is an entrepreneurial business unit within NetSpend, with responsibility for growing the company?s online and direct-to-consumer business line including all facets of customer acquisition, strategic partnerships, and servicing customers through web and mobile platforms.
We?re looking for a digital marketing star who can take our outbound marketing campaigns to new levels of scale and performance. NetSpend has embraced a mobile-first strategy, with mobile acquisition being a large component of this, but we recognize the need for an integrated cross-device approach to customer acquisition. Our new Marketing Manager will be instrumental in helping us win in this rapidly-changing ecosystem.
This position is based in San Mateo, CA and there will be occasional travel to NetSpend?s headquarters in Austin, Texas. The company offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including group medical, dental, vision care, and a 4% company match on 401K contributions.

As a key contributor within NetSpend?s Direct team, you?ll be able to define new customer acquisition growth strategies that continue NetSpend Direct?s impressive growth.
Drive Growth: Acquire new NetSpend customers by identifying new, cross-device digital marketing partners and campaign opportunities with the goal of delivering significant, profitable YOY growth for the business.
Build an acquisition pipeline: Build a pipeline of prospective partners through aggressive networking and business development.
Onboard new partners: Vet and select partners to test, navigating them through legal approval and then setting them up with all proper credentials and assets
Test & Learn: Rapidly deploy & analyze new partners and campaigns with the help of our best-in-class analytics team and tools. Explore opportunities in the direct media buying space (cutting out the middle man).
Scale performance: Expand successful test partnerships into rollout campaigns
Optimize partner relationships: Continuously evaluate performance at a source level, optimizing the budget in the process to ensure maximum ROI; continually test new creative (banners, landing pages, etc).
Expand branded programs: Build successful outbound campaigns for the growing number of branded programs under the direct business (PayPal, Western Union, Brink?s)
Be a thought leader: Maintain a keen awareness of market trends, competitive landscape, & new technology, bringing ideas, questions and observations to the team regularly. We grow by taking risks.
Own your numbers: Live & breathe your budget & performance metrics, making forecasting updates on a monthly basis. Provide weekly and monthly updates to the team on partner and campaign performance, making recommendations on future budget and partner/campaign allocation
Be a team player: Collaborate regularly with a high-performing marketing, analytics, and account management team-members, in addition to key supporting teams in Austin, TX.
Develop compelling creative: Drive the creative strategy for your campaigns by partnering with marketing teammates and design teams, ensuring that we are always challenging the champion.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Minimum 5-7 years B2C online marketing experience in technology, software, financial services or information services industry. Experience with mobile advertising or online lead generation required. Account management experience preferred.
You should have a passion for all-things-mobile and be in tune with emerging mobile marketing strategies.
Experience directly buying digital ad media; mobile is a plus
Multi-channel B2C marketing and experience preferred including creative development, test design and analysis
Data driven, analytical and comfortable working in a data intensive environment.
Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects. Thrives in a fast-moving, changing environment with minimal supervision.
Self-motivated, outgoing, with an entrepreneurial spirit. Has a can-do attitude.
Solid verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills. Adept at building strong relationships with external marketing partners.
Bachelors Degree, preferably in marketing or communication
