Direct and manage an assigned team of epidemiologists and/or research staff who manage or support programs to ensure quality, time and budget deliverables are met. Work closely with global clients and other functional groups by providing scientific leadership for observational research on the natural history of disease and comparative safety and effectiveness of medical treatments, designing methodologically sound studies to meet project objectives and regulatory requirements, and conducting and supervising analyses, evaluation and reporting
Collaborates with other Scientific Affairs team members and other functional groups to determine project needs, ensure high quality content in study proposals, protocols, analyses plans, study reports, abstract, publications and other documents
Provide expertise in study design, conduct, analysis and interpretation and serve as the senior scientifist on global research initiatives
Ensures the high quality and timeliness of deliverables from the Scientific Affairs department. Oversee and ensure the high quality level of Epidemiology expert review process
Functions as a liaison between clients, study stakeholders and external parties as needed, and support business development
Manages staff in accordance with organization?s policies and applicable regulations. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and guiding professional development; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems. Approves actions on human resources matters
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to plan and conduct studies of comparative effectiveness and safety
Proven leadership skills
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients in a global environment
Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet Explorer.
Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be highly organized and self-motivated with a proven ability to determine and meet objectives.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
PhD or educational equivalent in epidemiology or related field; Master?s degree or educational equivalent in epidemiology or related field and 7 years relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
