Responsibilities
Certiport, Inc., seeks a Director of Product Marketing to drive the direction and strategy of our product marketing efforts and engage with senior management on marketing strategies and direction. This position will work with all aspects of the Certiport Marketing team to determine the best messaging and strategies for various audiences, and implement and continuously optimize solutions to ensure marketing messages are effectively conveyed.
The Director of Product Marketing will be responsible for overseeing the marketing efforts associated with the client programs we offer. This position will align the program marketing strategies so they are consistent with the company's strategic marketing plans and meet overall growth, sales, and profitability objectives by collaborating with Marketing, Sales and Corporate leaders on business planning and streamlining of processes to create efficiencies and synergies between the groups.
This position will craft the messaging and positioning for your own product lines as well as provide direction on Certiport?s additional product lines. The role will conceive of and develop innovative marketing programs that drive demand. Attention to detail and an eye for quality, along with the ability to grasp and translate market drivers into benefits are crucial for this position. The Director of Product Marketing is the expert in persona profiling, targeting buyers, understanding how they buy and their buying criteria and will transfer that knowledge, through the team, to the sales channel. The position will also help to translate market requirements into product requirements working in conjunction with Product Line Managers. The expectation is that this person will be both a strategic thinker and capable of direct, hands on execution. As the head of product marketing, this individual will be accountable for sales tools, attend strategic discussions, and identify new marketing strategies to meet our customer expectations and business revenue goals.
This position monitors the development of program business plans, managing lifecycles, and product positioning in the market place and will oversee market research, monitor competitive activity, and identify customer needs. This position requires participation with other senior managers to establish corporate strategic plans and objectives and will work cross-functionally to maintain relationships with other areas of the business while functioning at both the Senior Marketing Management level as well as the functional Marketing level. This requires the Director to be able to work with employees at all levels of the organization to ensure consistency of Marketing and Business practice.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Developing and implementing creative marketing strategies that will make an impact, support the brand and drive sales and online traffic.
Developing and maximizing third party relationships to deliver on brand objectives and strategies.
Direct and coordinate business planning in each area of responsibility to assure the means for establishing short and long range objectives consistent with company goals.
Ensure that each channel is meeting predetermined goals and functioning efficiently.
Develop an annual Product Marketing Plan that provides strategic direction.
Develop product positioning and messaging that compels customers to action
Sales enablement ? communicate the value proposition of the products to the sales team and develop the sales tools that support the selling process of your products
Product launch ? Develop a launch process and plan the launch of new products and releases and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan
Market and competitive intelligence ? be the expert on your buyers and their buying criteria; be the expert on your competition and how we differentiate in meaningful ways
Demand generation ? develop the strategy and manage the marketing programs that drive demand for your products
Collateral and web?maintain standard marketing materials (data sheets, brochures, etc.); oversee product marketings involvement to build web and social media presence
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (BA,BS) equivalent required with emphasis in marketing, business or communications. MBA strongly preferred
10+ years of experience in product marketing roles
Significant demonstrated experience in leading teams and providing work direction to others
Creative analytic skills ? ability to identify strategic issues and to hypothesize and quantify relationships. Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
A clear understanding of the brand
Excellent communication, leadership and team building skills
Up to date with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Yahoo Video, etc)
Must be a self-starter, highly organized, and able to work well with employees and customers at all levels in the organization
Polished presentation and interpersonal skills
Limited travel anticipated
