Role Definition
The Director, Applications will provide strategic and operational leadership with respect to the design, development, implementation, deployment, support and maintenance of the company's business applications. This role will manage the relationship with stakeholders, internal and external to IT, to ensure strong alignment between application solutions and services and the requirements of the business. The Director, Application Development will develop and deliver a robust, scalable, supportable application platform, which leverages software solutions, processes, data, and technology to deploy and deliver business value and improve decision making and productivity. Global responsibility for our applications portfolio including: ERP, CRM, DBA functions and Business Intelligence. This role has a heavy emphasis on re-engineering our global processes for:
Responsibilities
Create, maintain and deliver a business/IT application strategy through effective solution selection, customization, and deployment.
Assist in the overall business technology planning related to long term strategic initiatives, anticipating future architecture and promoting competitive advantage
Develop and implement a collaborative business engagement model to deliver solutions for business initiatives ensuring that the highest priorities of the business and IT are aligned.
Provide guidance/direction to application development team to include performance management, mentoring, and coaching.
Create and manage robust operations review processes and measures, establishing service level objectives and continuous improvement initiatives across application solutions and services.
Manage application development department budget and forecast for assigned IT functions.
Manage the development and deployment of new applications, systems software, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise.
Provide technical leadership to project managers and programmers working on development project teams.
Ensure that any new software integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.

Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in computer science or related technical field or equivalent experience required.
Exceptional leadership and management skills and the ability to motivate, develop, and inspire a team while creating a highly empowered organization.
Demonstrated ability in leadership and technology management, focused on implementations and operations, and creating and delivering strategies/programs/standards.
Strong organization skills and extensive experience managing IT projects.
Experience in forming strategic partnerships with functional technology and business executives.
Excellent understanding of applications technologies and platforms, including development lifecycles and solutions in application enterprise architecture, engineering, integrations and reporting.
Skilled in managing details, organization and multi-tasking required.
Strong consulting, negotiation, problem resolution, mediation and interpersonal skills required.
Excellent written communication skills across all levels of the organization.
