Director, Billing Services Genoa Healthcare
Manages the overall operations of the billing department. Develops and implements policy and procedure and supervises billing staff. Provides direction and advice to pharmacies and staff as necessary. This position is integral to the smooth operation of our pharmacy services.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage the team responsible for timely collections of accounts receivable in a casual, high-growth environment. Manage the processes for accurate and timely billing and reimbursement of medical and pharmacy services, including coverage and insurance verification, accurate service capture, timely and compliant claim filing, and denial follow up.
Monitors and manages days sales outstanding (DSOs). Recommends and implements solutions to minimize DSOs and enhance Company cash flow. Review and analyze accounts receivable reports for identifying problems and coordination of collection efforts.
Oversees all facets of the daily operations of the billing department, ensuring compliance with the facility, state, and federal laws, policies, and regulations.
Develops or assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures consistent with those of the organization to ensure effective and efficient operation of the unit.
Develops process flows, including the documentation of departmental processes, report generation and process improvement initiatives
Performs comprehensive analyses, including the review, summarization and dissemination of key regulatory updates and changes. Provides guidance to other departments in understanding and complying with regulatory requirements. Communicates the importance of compliance and the compliance program to staff.
Developing and maintains productive relationships with all levels of management as well as other relevant external parties including client facilities.
Interviews of job applicants and evaluates worker performance to recommend personnel actions such as hiring, retention, promotion, transfer or dismissal of workers. Approval of employee time cards.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Educational or Skills Requirements:
Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
Minimum three years management experience in medical billing / pharmacy billing experience highly desirable.
Experience with Medicare/Medicaid and all insurance types essential.
Prior supervisory skills required
Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
