We seek a global Director of Blurb.com to lead the strategic direction and day-to-day management of the website. In this role, you will apply your web design know-how, passion for the customer experience, branding chops, SEO expertise and data led decision making to increase the success of the Blurb.com conversion funnel while retaining the Blurb differentiators. You will adroitly balance the need for continual improvement of the current web site and success of the funnel, while developing the vision and recommendation for updating the Blurb.com site experience and its global variations.
This role is responsible for the content strategy and conversion funnel of Blurb.com. Success is defined as growing the revenue of the website and meeting the revenue goals principally by growing the number of bookmakers and repeat bookmakers across our key customer segments, as well as via book buyers from the Blurb.com channel.
Based on insights about the different target audiences and their behavior you will lead all aspects of improving site engagement, conversion success and revenue per visit. You will work with internal and external partners to manage website changes, seeing them through execution, and measuring results.
Balancing the need for day-to-day site management, you will develop a recommendation for a refresh of the website to meet evolving business needs and to drive improved business results. You will review Google analytics, market research, SEO rankings, digital trends, and competitive websites, to make data-driven site changes and drive ongoing optimization.
You will lead the effort to develop weekly and monthly web dashboards that monitor the conversion funnel, and provide early identification of changes in the funnel. You will ensure the timely evaluation of initiatives and proactively share results and insights.
You will ensure the blurb.com experience fully delivers on the key attributes of the Blurb brand, working across departments and geographies, involving key stakeholders in the funnel.
You will develop global best practice and guidance for the content producing leads and agencies who help manage our top level domains worldwide.
Proven and demonstrable track record of success directing websites for consumer focused businesses
Ideally has developed sites that appeal to multiple customer segments including consumer and business to business
A strong strategic thinker who is able to translate overall business strategy and target consumer insights into a compelling, profitable, and differentiated web strategy
Deep experience with web design, online marketing, and SEO strategy
Mobile ? responsive design experience absolutely required
Strong knowledge of information architecture, UX and visual design ? driving clear communication with internal and external stakeholders in these disciplines
Skilled at developing A/B tests to improve results and drive insights about the customer
Strong analytical skills, including in-depth understanding of Google Analytics
Experience working across & setting strategy for global websites
Can demonstrate experience in how to develop & nurture international stakeholders & requirements
Experienced in developing localization models & methodologies
Up to speed on latest technology and user experience best practices to improve site engagement and conversion
Excellent communicator and leader, who has a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to develop solutions that draw on the expertise of many functions
Results oriented, with a sense of urgency for driving results
College graduate, MBA a plus
