The Business and Corporate Development team at Palo Alto Networks consists of a small group of seasoned professionals with a singular objective: to lead the efficient execution of strategic initiatives that drive significant top line growth and/or market expansion for Palo Alto Networks, while maintaining profitability targets.
In this key role as a Business Development executive, you will play an integral role in all aspects of the company's strategic transactions, including partnerships and other strategic alliances, which include OEM transactions (inbound and outbound) and other revenue generating collaborations. This role will focus primarily on large strategic collaborations that have significant revenue potential and/or are of high strategic value to the company.
Responsibilities will involve: identifying prospective target opportunities and driving leadership of opportunities generated by the product teams; building consensus across the organization; understanding and evangelizing the value to internal stakeholders, developing strategy and conducting negotiations, and driving all activities to closure.
This role requires consultative approach in which the person must exercise very steady business judgment and be viewed as a trusted advisor throughout the organization and across various business functions
Key Responsibilities- Identify potential new strategic alliances
- Define and manage common governance model across alliances
- Negotiate complex business agreements from start to finish (expert).
- Identify potential technology collaboration opportunities, define joint solutions, develop business cases, and drive go-to-market strategy
- Orchestrate cross company resources to support the alliances.
Required Skills & Experience- BS/BA or equivalent; 10-15 years of related industry experience
- Experience in security, software or networking industry a plus
- Must have experience across a variety of different business models: OEM (HW + SW), M&A, licensing, etc.
- Business/Corporate Development experience running all aspects of strategic transactions
- Experience working across all areas of business from engineering, sales, and manufacturing to C-level
- Extremely strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Exceptionally strong persuasive skills and ability to influence decision makers
- Leadership and self motivation
- Legal experience a plus but not required
- M&A experience a plus but not required
Preferences- Prior Startup experience
- Experience from companies in the enterprise networking security space
