Director, Business Development - California Better Place

DUTIES:
This position will be responsible for developing and executing Better Places strategy in California, as part of the Better Place North America team. The main focus of this role is to develop term sheets, memorandums of understanding, and definitive agreements with partners:
Utilities and energy providers
Infrastructure/developers and technology partners
Auto manufacturers and other OEMs
Municipalities and local Government agencies
Corporate vision partners and business associations
Other key areas of responsibility:
Support in developing Better Place in California as part of the North America team.
Define and operate according to detailed annual and multi-year operational plan.
Partner with the Deployment and Project Management teams to ensure success of the California projects.
Manage relationships with existing partners and outside contractors/service providers, such as attorneys, and consultants.
Interface with all Better Place departments to make certain execution is aligned and integrated with company objectives.
Develop a policy plan to ensure the long-term business environment for success in California.

QUALIFICATIONS:
o Strong track record of accomplishment in similar position
o Candidate must have strong relationships within the California market
o Experience working on policy at state and local levels, with CA government entities, and local agencies
o A candidate from the Energy, IT, Telco, Automotive sectors is highly desired; specifically working on large/complex deals
o Experience managing a company and or sizeable business unit; including experience with planning, execution and financing
o Strong executive communication presence, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills
o Should have international/global experience.
o Must have strong record of working multiple partnerships at the same time, closing complex business agreements.
o Composure in dealing with broad set of issues, maintaining composure even in stressful situations.
o Team player, self starter, and ability to work with limited direction
o Minimum 15 years of business development or related experience
o Experience working in a fast-paced start-up environment is desired
EDUCATION:
o BS/BA degree required
o MS/MA/MBA strongly desired.
