THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED ObjectVideo is a pioneering leader in the fields of intelligent video tagging and analysis, geo-registration of imagery and video and mobile event management. OV's Government Services group conducts leading edge research for Department of Defense and Intelligence Community research agencies and transitions the technologies developed into commercial solutions. OV is looking for a motivated, technology savvy sales and business development leader with deep experience working for or with the DoD research agencies to help develop and expand our strong existing portfolio of funded contracts. The successful candidate will have strong existing relationships in the DoD research community and a track record of successfully identifying, qualifying and closing small and large research and development contracts.
The position will report directly to the President of Products and Services and will work closely with the SVP of R&D, Principal Investigators and research scientists to refine and influence OV's technical roadmap and vision.
Monitor the changing research agendas of Government Research Agencies and identify SBIR, Open BAA and other contract opportunities with a strong fit to OV's product vision and skillset.
Build and maintain relationships with leading PMs and influencers in the Research Agencies and Military.
Position OV's research and development capabilities to key decision-makers within the DoD/IC Research Agencies (DARPA, IARPA, ONR, AFRL, OSD, NGA, etc.) or other relevant Government agencies.
Build and maintain relationships with academic and commercial partners with expertise in video analytics, geo-registration and mobile interfaces, enabling partnering opportunities and teaming strategies on business opportunities in both prime and sub roles.
Lead proposal capture and proposal writing activities.
Promote company technology at trade meetings and conferences, including maintaining value-added contact with government officials and government customer representatives.
Lead pre-proposal capture and proposal development activities including developing comprehensive capture plans, identifying winning themes and ensuring that proposal content addresses the client's needs and requirements.
Prepare and deliver marketing presentations and gate reviews.
Support the writing and pricing of contract submissions.
Create business development plans and programs and recommend objectives to be accomplished to support long term business objectives.
Prepare annual and long term forecasts and develop business capture plans and strategies.
Have a thorough understanding of the technology, OV's products and market space.
Meet individual objectives and perform as a team member to achieve team targets and goals.
10+ years of relevant business development experience in the industry and proven ability to manage all aspects of the business development cycle.
Demonstrated history of success in business development with a background that includes expertise in the areas of strategy development, capture planning and proposal support.
Proven track record in identifying, pursuing and winning new DoD, Intelligence and Federal government contracts.
Established network of contacts within DoD, Intelligence and Federal government agencies including but not limited to the Air Force, Navy, DARPA, IARPA, AFRL and NRL.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of market requirements, policies and current issues, as well as Federal procurement practices and contract vehicles including SBIR and STTR programs.
Must be able to act independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the business development and implementation of business strategies and plans.
Must have an entrepreneurial spirit and want to build a business.
Demonstrated technical and analytical abilities and an understanding of video analytics, geo-registration and computer vision.
Ability to develop, build and maintain relationships both externally and internally.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to understand and credibly articulate technical subjects.
Ability to influence and interact with all levels of management, government, and military personnel.
