Director Business Development Outbrain
Outbrain is seeking a motivated business development director to expand the distribution of our content recommendation platform to additional publisher and media sites. Outbrain currently powers content recommendations on premium sites like USATODAY, Tribune, Slate, Newsweek, iVillage and more, along with tens of thousands of blogs. The director will be expected to form similar partnerships through to extend our distribution footprint. In addition, the director is responsible for generating direct revenue by selling traffic acquisition programs to key publishers, blog and partner accounts.

Experience working with the digital departments of large publishers such as newspapers, magazines, media companies or large blog networks is a plus, as is previous experience selling to audience development and/or marketing teams at online publishers. Key Responsibilities:
1. Deal focused individual who can independently build a large pipeline of outbound leads, pursue and close.
2. Excellent in person presentation skills, relationship building and experience in contract negotiations.
3. Ability to sell multiple products to a given customer by weaving through large organizations to find the right stakeholders for each product without confusing overall product messaging.
4. Experienced pipeline management, accurately forecast new business closure rate and revenue booked.
5. Work closely with the VP of Business Development to consistently achieve and exceed revenue goals. Liaise with Client Services/Account Managers to effectively manage client expectations and ensure successful implementation of our widgets or technology.
6. Travel as needed to attend trade shows and meet prospects and clients.
7. Solid understanding of digital technologies and ability to explain product benefits in detail.
8. Provide input to product management teams on features that would provide partners additional value.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree, MBA preferred.
- Proven communication, presentation, phone etiquette and general sales skills.
- Experience selling traffic acquisition programs to online publishers a significant plus.
- Contacts with interactive publishing (media, newspaper, magazine) decision makers a plus.
- Former experience in structuring and negotiating deals for an Internet company or deals where an online component and revenue was central.
- Strong analytical skills to monitor, converse with clients and to identify trends in data and in generated reports.
